We want to congratulate Viva Au, for achieving her Orange Sash and also her daughter, Waverly Reifka, who achieved her Blue Sash.  A special congratulations as well to Karina Vasquez, for achieving her Blue Sash.

It is my pleasure seeing the growth and maturity of each student.  Way to go!  We are looking forward to your next level.

This was definitely a family affair!

It was great spending time with Chan Kit Fong on her 100th birthday. Chan Kit Fong (Chan Yiu Chi’s daughter and Master Fu Hang Ng’s mother) enjoyed spending her day with family and other Choy Lee Fut practitioners. To know her and spend time with her is such a blessing.

She has the spirit and energy of a young person. Also, her knowledge of the art is priceless. Knowing her for the past thirty years has been a joy. She is a very special lady.

Sister City Garden Festival

We have been featured in the Bakersfield Lifestyle Magazine with our performance at the first-ever Sister City Garden Festival here in Bakersfield. It was truly such an honor to being part of this community event.

"Members of the Chinese Lion Dancers from Choy Lee Fut, Golden Lion Studios of Bakersfield finished performing at the first-ever Sister City Gardens Festival where festival-goers explored the Sister City Gardens and learn more about the  people and cultures of Bakersfield’s current sister cities: Amritsar, India; Bucheon, South Korea; Cixi, China; Santiago de Queretaro, Mexico; and Wakayama, Japan."

Cok Ng - Sifu Certificate Presentation. We also would like to honor Cok Ng for achieving his Sifu (Teacher) Certificate. This is the second time in Golden Lion Studios history that Sifu Roman Ruiz has awarded another student with a Sifu Certificate.

Cok Ng - Choy Lee Fut Black Sash Presentation

Another milestone event at Golden Lion Studios

Saturday, April 27th, 2019

A two-hour ordeal where Cok had to perform 25 Choy Lee Fut hand, weapon, and two-man forms. Afterward, having to spar with several classmates, demonstrating his fighting and application skills.

We were honored by the presence of my Sifu, Master Fu Hang Ng, a 5th generation direct descendant of Chan Heung (founder of the Choy Lee Fut system), and his wife, “Si Poo” Sue.

They were accompanied by Sifu Ruben Alfonzo and his daughter.

Golden Lion Studios would like to congratulate Cok Ng for completing the training for Sifu.  This is another special day for Golden Lion Studios.  He has achieved Sifu certification.  We are proud of him.  He has been a great asset and teacher with us for several years and it has been an honor to work with him.  Master Fu Hang Ng was present at his ceremony.

Celebrating Sifu Roman Ruiz Birthday

At Golden Lion Studios, we had a great time celebrating Sifu Roman Ruiz Birthday.

The students baked flan, brownies.

They served food and presented Roman with gifts. Roman appreciated everything done for him and really enjoyed his time with everyone in attendance.

Golden Lion Studios would like to congratulate Alex Dedios for completing the training for Sifu.  This is a special day for Golden Lion Studios.  He is the firt student who achieved Sifu certification.  We are proud of him.  He has been with us for several years now and has been an honor to teach and train him.  Master Fu Hang Ng was present at his ceremony.

On September 9th, 2017 Golden Lion Studios of Bakersfield Ca. Held a “Black Sash” test for two long-time students.

These 2 1/2hour tests consisted of Choy Lee Fut (family style) Hand and weapon forms, two-man forms, wooden dummy and sandbag dummy forms, a Tai Chi form and ended by demonstrating their fighting skills, (sparring each other and fellow students).

Our school was honored by the visit and participation of Grand Master Fu Hang Ng of Los Angeles. And a big thank you to Ian (student of Fu Hang Ng) and Shihlin his wife for bringing him. This was a great day for all, students, family members, and the Choy Lee Fut Federation of America.

The day ended with a feast at the China Palace restaurant.
